Questions - Ice bath use ❄️

When to change the water?
  • Without a chiller, the water must be replaced every 10 to 15 days.
  • When using one of our chillers (sold separately), the water is filtered and disinfected, allowing it to be changed approximately every 3 months.

To clean the tub, simply rinse it with clean water and soap. Install it on a flat surface, indoors or outdoors.

How to cool the bath and what temperature should the bath be?
  • Water temperature: It is not mandatory to use ice to cool the tub: the main thing is that the water remains between 0 and 15°C to get all the benefits.
  • Gradual cooling: With practice, you can lower the temperature by adding ice. To produce it easily, freeze bottles, ice packs or containers filled with water.
  • Use one of our chillers : to keep the water cold without using ice, a chiller (sold separately) can be used. It can cool the water down to 3°C and automatically turns on if the temperature rises, to reach the target temperature.
  • Alternative ice sources: You can also get large quantities of ice for free from supermarkets.
How long does the water stay cold?
  • Without cooler: the length of time water stays cold depends on several factors: its initial temperature, the amount of ice added, and the ambient temperature. It is therefore difficult to give an exact time.
  • With cooler: water remains continuously cold and can be cooled down to 3°C. The cooler automatically switches on as soon as the temperature rises, in order to reach and maintain the target temperature.

There's no specific time to take an ice bath; it depends on your schedule. In the morning, it can boost your energy and make you more productive. In the evening, it helps with relaxation and improves sleep. Ultimately, the choice between morning and evening depends on your preferences and needs.

What is the ideal frequency, duration, and temperature for an ice bath?

Frequency: A maximum of 1 session per day. Ideally, expose yourself for at least 11 minutes per week.

Duration: Start with short sessions of 1 to 3 minutes. Gradually increase as tolerated.

Temperature: Water should be below 15°C to fully benefit from the effects of cold. Begin between 8 and 12°C, then, once accustomed, you can go down to 3°C.

Tip: Go slowly and listen to your body. Respect your limits and adjust the duration according to your sensations. If you feel unwell, exit the water immediately.

Is this practice suitable for everyone?

IMPORTANT: If you have health problems, a doctor's advice is mandatory before using the ice bath.

DO NOT PRACTICE IF YOU ARE IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CASES:

This practice is strongly discouraged and requires medical advice for people in the following cases:

If you are pregnant, have a history of heart disease or high blood pressure, have diabetes, wear a pacemaker, have a history of frostbite, have an open wound, have recently undergone surgery, suffer from epilepsy, or have other health problems or risks.

For minors, a doctor's advice is mandatory.

Immersion in ice water can lead to a significant drop in body temperature and constrict blood vessels, which, combined with health problems, can increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other complications.

SIDE EFFECTS

It is also important to note that prolonged exposure to an ice bath can lead to side effects such as hypothermia, frostbite, rapid heartbeat, arrhythmias, allergic reactions, and anaphylactic shock.

OUR BEST ADVICE

Despite these warnings, when used correctly, ice baths can offer many benefits for mental and physical health. We recommend starting with short sessions in the ice bath, 1 to 3 minutes maximum, and gradually increasing exposure time, always listening to your body's signals and avoiding pushing it beyond its limits.

Yes, the sauna can be integrated into a regular routine, even several times a week.

For daily use, opt for moderate sessions, hydrate well, and adjust the duration according to how you feel.

The Icepiration dry sauna is designed for 1 person. Its format allows for a comfortable session while remaining compact and easy to integrate into the home.

How do I clean the sauna?

1. After each session

Allow the sauna to cool down, then wipe the interior and floor with a soft cloth.

2. Allow it to dry

Keep the door open until the interior is completely dry.

3. In case of stains

✓ 10 to 20 minutes in the sauna

✓ 30 seconds to 2 minutes in the ice bath

✓ 2 to 5 minutes of rest between each session

✓ 1 to 3 cycles depending on your level and how you feel

After the session, take time to rehydrate and calm down. Always listen to your body and avoid pushing yourself, especially during the first few uses.
